Happy Third Anniversary Baybee!

For our anniversary, I attempted to recreate our wedding cake (top tier). You can see the original here. It was a good learning experience, except the silver frosting I had didn't work (looked like mud) and improvising kind of farked up the fondant border... but it tastes good. It's a lemon buttercream 3-tier cake (recipe).

All in all I was pretty satisfied with it. :) I'd love to take real classes to learn actual techniques.

Way to go! It looks like it was pertty darn believable. I hope you two had a great anniversary.

How about we try for the Zoo again the weekend after memorial day (oh my goodness, that’s june already!). We don’t have plans for memorial day weekend yet, so that would be a possibility, though it might be quite crowded (not necessarily a horrible thing either).

I’m in Phoenix the weekend of Memorial Day, but the weekend after would probably work just fine! :D

I took courses for cake decorating at Michael’s Arts and Crafts store, I bought this kit for cake decorating and got free classes, I am pretty sure that those stores are nationwide. If you’re interested you should check it out, it helped me a lot.
